Sunday 10th January          Tudeley RSPB site
Ride widening or hazel coppicing with new warden Mathew Allen.. Meet in the RSPB car park off Dislingbury (otherwise known as Half Moon) Lane off A21 by Shell Garage near Pembury.

Sunday 17th January            Birchwood, Bidborough Ridge.
Birch thinning with David Counsel and Peter Riley of the Local Residents Association.

OS 188 Grid Ref 568434.  Meet at public footpath entrance to Birchwood on St. Lawrence Ave off Woodland Way, Bidborough.

Sunday 24th January    Bore Place,  Bowzell’s Lane,  Chiddingstone
Willow harvesting.   Meet at Bore Place car park over the cattle grid on the right at the end of the entrance lane. OS 188 Grid Ref 505490. 

Sunday 7th February            Broadwater Warren, Tunbridge Wells

RSPB site, west of the A26.  180 hectares of woodland, currently undergoing a ten-year management plan to restore conifer plantation to heathland. Various tasks - possibly birch thinning and removing small conifers. Some areas are boggy and full of high tussocky grass and heather. Stout footwear is recommended.

Sunday 21st February     Bore Place,   Bowzell’s Lane, Chiddingstone
Ride widening in Kiln Wood to provide habitat for butterflies to feed and flourish.  Meet at Bore Place car park over the cattle grid on the right at the end of the entrance lane. OS 188 Grid Ref 505490. 

Sunday 7th March       Bough Beech Visitors Centre nr Chiddingstone

Leaders Lynne and Pete Flower.   Winter pruning the old apple orchard and other associated tasks .   Small step ladders and secateurs may be useful, if you are able to bring any along.

Meet in the Visitor Centre car park north of the reservoir causeway on the west side of Winkhurst Green Rd, Bough Beech. OS188 Grid Ref 495493
 

Sunday 21st March    Bore Place,  Bowzell’s Lane,  Chiddingstone
 Coppicing young elm trees to keep Dutch Elm beetle at bay, on a further section of the shaw above the car parking area.

 Meet at Bore Place car park over the cattle grid on the right at the end of the entrance lane. OS 188 Grid Ref 505490.

 Hazel layering with John Waller.  Similar to hedge laying, this is a challenge for anyone who fancies perfecting their pleaching!  Don't worry if this sounds tricky, as full instructions will be given with a demonstration of the technique beforehand.

Sunday 25th  April               St Julian's Country Club, Sevenoaks.

Continuing where we left off in 2009; removing cherry laurel and rhododendron on this steeply wooded site.   Free delicious lunch available from the restaurant.

OS 188 Grid Ref 547528. Heading south on A225 out of Sevenoaks, after approx 1 mile from town centre just after brow of hill, take left turn towards Knole Park. St Julian's signposted on right after 0.75 mile. Meet part way down the driveway in a small car park on the right.
